There have been MacBook Pros, iPads etc. but what interests me is the Mac Mini.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.iangrandjean.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/mac-mini-m4.webp\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"683\" src=\"https:\/\/www.iangrandjean.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/mac-mini-m4-1024x683.webp\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3166\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.iangrandjean.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/mac-mini-m4-1024x683.webp 1024w, https:\/\/www.iangrandjean.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/mac-mini-m4-300x200.webp 300w, https:\/\/www.iangrandjean.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/mac-mini-m4-768x512.webp 768w, https:\/\/www.iangrandjean.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/mac-mini-m4.webp 1500w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 706px) 89vw, (max-width: 767px) 82vw, 740px\" \/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>This is (almost life size) the new Mac Mini 2024 &#8211; 12,7cm wide and 5cm high &#8211; tiny!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As with previous editions, APPLE have actually REDUCED the price (by roughly 200\u20ac here in France) and doubled the base RAM to 16Gb from 8Gb.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The cunning buggers have hidden the on\/off switch underneath the chassis instead of it being on the rear face &#8211; this is ok, but putting ports (particularly the audio jack) on the front is a pain &#8211; I don&rsquo;t like cable draping everywhere.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.iangrandjean.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/mac-mini-M4-bouton.webp\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"683\" src=\"https:\/\/www.iangrandjean.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/mac-mini-M4-bouton-1024x683.webp\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3172\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.iangrandjean.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/mac-mini-M4-bouton-1024x683.webp 1024w, https:\/\/www.iangrandjean.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/mac-mini-M4-bouton-300x200.webp 300w, https:\/\/www.iangrandjean.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/mac-mini-M4-bouton-768x512.webp 768w, https:\/\/www.iangrandjean.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/mac-mini-M4-bouton.webp 1500w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 706px) 89vw, (max-width: 767px) 82vw, 740px\" \/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>To avoid having the audio cable plugged in all the time, I&rsquo;ve invested 19\u20ac in a Bluetooth dongle which can attach to my sound system &#8211; this way I can stream music wirelessly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There are now 2 USB-C ports on the front face, and three USB-C Thunderbird on the rear, but no more USB-A ports.
